Stairway to Someplace (Heaven, the Stars … Take Yer Pick)
Sometimes I think the only things standing between jazz and rock & roll are the key signatures. If Adolph Sax had designed his horns in E or A instead of Eb or Bb, maybe the majority of revival-ish alto sax and tenor saxophonists would be playing Zeppelin instead of Gershwin — “A Whole Lotta Love” instead of “I Got Rhythm.”
